Iconergy conceptualized and provided full engineering and financial analysis for a microgrid comprised of a battery storage and solar PV array at a REIT-owned mixed-use campus that was looking to increase it resiliency during extreme weather events such as hurricanes. Iconergy provided an engineered and pre-construction vetted design that met the REIT’s operational, financial, and technical requirements. The REIT has put the approved solution into their capital improvement planning process for the site; when approved, Iconergy will construct the microgrid.

Iconergy performed retro-commissioning for this large, multi-facility 1.2M square foot office building campus in Chicago. This site has multiple large central water-cooled chiller plants, multiple campus boiler plants, and dozens of air handling units that are a mix of dual duct and single duct VAV systems. Iconergy identified numerous ECMs with a total potential energy savings of over 1,000,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year of electricityand over 100,000 therms per year of natural gas. The total energy cost savings from these ECMs are estimated at approximately $100,000 per year and have an overall project simple payback of 0.5 years.

Retro-commissioning services were performed for the Thermo Fisher laboratory and identified energy conservation measures (ECMs), principally around their cryogenic freezers and laboratory HVAC/controls systems. Iconergy leveraged Xcel Energy rebates and incentives which lowered the simple payback for the suite of measure to only 1.4 years.

Iconergy was contracted by Miller Global Properties to perform commissioning services for the seven-story, 216,811 square foot Dry Creek Center. This Class A office project was initially only a core and shell building; however, the tenant also then contracted with Iconergy to provide core and interior commissioning as well during the tenant fit out. The project earned a LEED BD+C: Core and Shell (v3) Silver certification.

Performed a turnkey design-build retrofit for this 8-building complex. Iconergy developed and executed a scope of work via an Investment Grade Audit and subsequent Performance Contract. Many energy conservation measures (ECMs) were implemented such as retrofitting exterior and parking garage lighting, insulation, and replacing boilers. Phase 1 over-performed guaranteed savings by more than 10%.
