Memberships, Accreditations, and Certifications
The individuals that comprise Iconergy's staff have been involved in numerous organizations for many years. In some cases, individuals from Iconergy have served as past Presidents, Board Members, Officers, or Chairs. This close engagement with market specific organizations allows Iconergy to pass along our knowledge and expertise to our clientele and incorporate best practices in day-to-day operations.
AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF ENERGY ENGINEERS
Iconergy has numerous staff that are members of belong to the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). The AEE provides an environment for energy engineers to share and learn about the latest innovations and approaches to saving energy for their clients. The AEE is a great source for information and networking in the dynamic fields of energy engineering and energy management, renewable and alternative energy, power generation, energy services, sustainability, and all related areas. The Rocky Mountain Association of Energy Engineers (RMAEE) is an organization dedicated to educating its members about efficient energy usage and energy savings technologies that exist in the Rocky Mountain marketplace. Each month, the RMAEE hosts a lunch meeting or seminar to provide information to its members about current energy topics and emerging technology. Doug Hargrave, President of Iconergy, held the positions of RMAEE President, Vice President, and also sat on the Board of Directors. Maren Traeger is also the current Scholarship Chair.
Building commissioning association
Iconergy is a member of the Building Commissioning Association (BCxA). The Building Commissioning Association promotes building commissioning practices that maintain high professional standards, and fulfill building owners’ expectations. Believing that diverse and creative approaches to commissioning benefit our profession and it’s clients, BCxA focuses on identifying critical commissioning attributes and components, rather than attempting to dictate a rigid commissioning process.
BUILDING OWNERS AND MANAGERS ASSOCIATION
Iconergy is a proud member of Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). BOMA is an international federation of more than 100 local associations and affiliated organizations. BOMA looks to enhance the human, intellectual and physical assets of the commercial real estate industry. Iconergy is able to use BOMA as a helpful source for new ideas and technologies in energy management and sustainability.
ENERGY SERVICES COALITION
Iconergy is actively engaged in a number of state chapters of the Energy Services Coalition (ESC). The ESC is the only public and private coalition of individual energy experts focused on the promotion of Guaranteed Energy Performance Contracting. The ESC provides its members with many resources to facilitate performance contracting projects, energy efficiency improvements, and building upgrades. Iconergy will work within the local Colorado chapter of the ESC to promote and leverage the Colorado Performance Contracting program by bringing together public sector facility owners and state employees to effectively determine facility needs.
ENERGY STAR ®️ PARTNER
Iconergy is an ENERGY STAR partner helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. Iconergy assists facility owners working with the energy performance benchmarks developed by ENERGY STAR to compare similar facilities across the nation. Buildings that score high enough in the benchmark rankings are qualified to receive their ENERGY STAR award.
Iconergy will work with facility owners under the Colorado program to determine if their buildings rank high enough to receive recognition. If any buildings do receive an ENERGY STAR award Iconergy will assist in the promotion of that building.
INTERNATIONAL FACILITY MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION
International Facility Management Association (IFMA) is the world's largest and most widely recognized international association for facility management professionals. The IFMA offers a targeted source of facility management education, information, and interaction. The IFMA allows our engineers to stay current on the latest trends, technology and best practices within the facilities management world.
Special district association
Iconergy is a member of the Special District Association of Colorado. The Special District Association of Colorado (SDA) is a statewide membership organization created in 1975 to serve the interests of the special district form of local government in Colorado. Special districts fill a vital role in providing many of the basic services and public needs of the people of Colorado, including fire and rescue services, water and wastewater treatment and delivery, parks and recreation amenities, hospitals, libraries and cemeteries.
UNITED STATES GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL / LEED
Iconergy is a member of the U.S. Green Buildings Council and is constantly expanding its involvement in the development of new guidelines for existing buildings and other areas where our expertise is well suited. On our staff we have LEED certified engineers that are well versed in the LEED standards for existing buildings. Our staff members have played vital roles in numerous facilities throughout Colorado achieve the certification of LEED Gold. Iconergy can assist facility owners under the Colorado program if they wish to pursue LEED ratings for their facilities, which can act as a measure of distinction in commitment to sustainable design. We have also assisted schools in Colorado become High Performance School Buildings; closely following the requirements of CO-CHPS. The CO-CHPS creates a benchmark for the design and construction of Colorado high performance school buildings that are efficient, comfortable, environmentally responsible and healthy spaces.

BUILDING ENERGY MODELING PROFESSIONAL
As a certified ASHRAE Building Energy modeling professional (BEMP), one is able to demonstrate their knowledge and expertise in the HVAC&R industry. The BEMP certification is an integral part to ASHRAE's building energy labeling program. Certificants are required to renew every three years to ensure their continued professional development and knowledge as a building energy modeling professional.
Certified Energy Manager
Iconergy has several members of our team that are Certified Energy Managers (CEM). CEM is a credential that is used as a measure of professional accomplishment within the energy management field.
CERTIFIED MEASUREMENT & VERIFICATION PROFESSIONAL
A Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) is an individual who understands and can practically apply the different measurement and verification (M&V) options outlined in the International Performance Measurement & Verification Protocol (IPMVP) as well as the Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) Guideline 3. Iconergy has staff that hold this certification. This assists us in our ability to verify savings in a performance contract or in a standard M&V project. If a client is looking to verify savings on an energy project, Iconergy is well equipped to provide helpful answers.
LEADERSHIP IN ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN
A Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification demonstrates an in depth understanding and knowledge of green buildings. Our LEED AP employees specialize in understanding the guidelines set forth by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) in order to make sure your facility meets the requirements needed to become LEED accredited at whatever level.
PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER
Iconergy has a selection of Professional Engineers (P.E.) who are registered in various states. P.E.’s must complete a four-year college degree, work under a Professional Engineer for at least 4 years, pass two competency exams and earn a license from their state’s licensure board. Our P.E.’s are certified in multiple states.
COMMISSIONING PROCESS MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL
The purpose of the Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP) certification is to help building owners, developers, standards writing agencies, and others assess the capability of individuals to develop and manage the whole building commissioning process with the owner.
